Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 20, 2026
RunHawk ("we", "us", or "the app") is a daily-run accountability app.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the
choices you have. By using RunHawk you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. Email address, display name,
username, optional phone number, optional profile photo, and the
state you select at signup.
- Location data. RunHawk uses your device's GPS
during a run to measure distance and verify that the run is real.
When a run is saved we may also store the approximate location of
the run (city and state level, never street level) and the outdoor
temperature and weather conditions at that time.
- Run and activity data. Run distance, duration,
pace, dates, streak history, trophies, and rank progression.
- Social data. Your crew relationships — who invited
you, who you invited, and the runners you connect with — plus
accountability actions like Pushes.
- Device data. A push notification token so crew
notifications can reach your device, and basic diagnostic
information when something fails.
- Purchase data. Subscription status is processed by
Apple and RevenueCat (our subscription manager). We never see or
store your payment card details.
How we use it
- To run the core product: verify runs, maintain streaks, award
trophies and ranks, and show your crew whether you ran today.
- To deliver notifications you have opted into (crew Pushes and
connection requests).
- To manage your subscription and provide support.
- To prevent cheating — GPS-based validation data is analyzed to
confirm runs are genuine.
What other users can see
RunHawk is a social accountability app. Signed-in users can see your
profile: display name, username, hawk rank, streak, trophies, state, and
your run history (date, time, pace, city-level location, and weather).
You can turn off discoverability in Profile settings, which removes you
from search and nearby lists.
Public leaderboard
RunHawk publishes a leaderboard of the longest active streaks at
runhawkapp.com/leaderboard,
visible to anyone on the web. It shows only your username, hawk rank,
current streak, and state — never your display name, run history,
location, or any contact information. Turning off discoverability in
Profile settings also removes you from the public leaderboard.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase — authentication, database,
storage, and push notifications.
- RevenueCat and Apple — subscription processing.
- Open-Meteo — weather at your run location
(receives approximate coordinates, no identity).
- BigDataCloud — converts run coordinates to a city
name (receives approximate coordinates, no identity).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show ads.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete
your account from inside the app (Profile), which permanently removes
your account and associated data from our systems. You can also email us
at support@runhawkapp.com to
request deletion.
Children
RunHawk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
Data is stored with Google Firebase using industry-standard
encryption in transit and at rest, with access rules restricting who can
read and write what.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the
effective date above.
